2015 Regional Conversations: Local Priorities, Statewide Opportunities

Due to a lack of registration, we have reluctantly decided to cancel the five remaining summer regional meetings in Medford, Corvallis, Tillamook, Pendleton, and Burns. We had a successful meeting with modest participation in Portland earlier this week, but interest has fallen short in other areas of the state.

These meetings are important to us and our agency partners, but planning and promoting them requires a significant investment. We got a late start, and this is a busy time for many, but we haven’t seen broad engagement. At this point, we don’t feel there is value in expending additional resources. We’d rather focus our efforts into planning quality content for the Fall Conference, which will be held November 2-4 at the Valley River Inn in Eugene. Looking forward, we’ll continue to evaluate our program offerings, which may include offering fewer events each year. We see value in the regional meetings, but only where there is enough time and engagement to collect sufficient local input for development of a truly useful agenda.
